Don't worry - we'll never be the Iron Imps!

But don't worry, it'll never happen. One look at the date at the top of the article (and even written out for you at the bottom) should have been enough to reveal the truth behind the story.

So, don't worry, it was nothing more than an April fools joke by us. Sorry if we almost gave you an heart attack!

The future of the Iron is not in doubt. So lets sit back and enjoy us winning promotion via the playoffs, whilst watching the Imps flounder.

Quite worrying nonetheless is that 60% of users who voted in our poll backed the idea of a merger! 20% said no, whilst the final 20% were waiting on the quality of the pies before making judgement.

We weren't the only site here on the footymad network to play a little prank, users of Koptalk.Com were informed that Michael Owen had agreed a pre-contract with Manchester United in a deal worth £52million.

Rio Ferdinand was returning to the Hammersaccording to Westhammersfc.com, whilst Burnley Cricket club are planning to move into Turf Moor.  Seasiders.net joined in the fun, reporting that Blackpool were to compete in the Intertoto Cup this summer, after their success in the LDV Vans Trophy recently.

Today may be all fools day, but lets hope the boys down in the East End of London aren't left looking like fools today, as usual our matchday team be bringing you the full squad lists immediately after kick off and full stats immediately after final whistle as we await the match report.

Up The Iron!
