The Iron Filings, a supporters side who are backed by Scunthorpe United FC met Lincoln City's side prior to the match, and ran out 9-3 winners in a snow-covered pitch.

The Filings have now beaten every supporters side in the local area, including an 11-1 tonking of Hull's fans, and a 2-1 away success at Grimsby despite fielding a weakened side.

The Filings compete in the TFG Sports IFA League, and the three points sees
them lying in twelfth place after taking twenty points from nine league games.

Saturday's win came thanks to a hat-trick of strikes from Neil Hodge, braces from Lee Riley and player-manager Mark Bodie, as well as goals from Daz Hughes and Nigel Dexter.

However, the match wasn't without its problems. Club secretary James Newcombe tried to sneak of the pitch citing injury with quarter of an hour to go - only to be told to get back onto the pitch due to a lack of substitutes.

Luke Thornhill, playing in his second league game of the season whilst back from university, also suffered a pulled hamstring.
