Supporters side lift cup

With Scunthorpe United already secured a play-off spot those Filings whoe were unable to travel to Shrewsbury were in Grimsby to compete in the inaugral tournament.

The four team tournament consisted of hosts Grimsby Town, the Filings, Brighton and Rotherham sides. The games were each half an hour long.

The Filing's opening match saw them play Rotherham, a side well known to the Filings, picking up the points with a 2-1 win.

Despite trailing at half-time the Filings hit back with goals from Rick Bugg and Rob Needham.

Their second match saw the Filings play out a goaless draw against Grimsby before trouncing Brighton 6-0 to set up a final, where they would again meet Brighton.

Mark Bodie, Rob Needham, Matt Brewer, Danny Oxley, Dave Preston and Neil Hodge scored the goals.

The Filings were confident going into the game, and lifted the trophy thanks to goals from Neil Hodge, Ryan Parkinson and Rob Needham.
