"It is tough, but when you look through the fixtures every game is going to be tough," said Adkins on Sky Sports News.
"The realisation now is that we are in the Championship, and Charlton is the first game of what is going to be a fantastic season
"We're going to have some great journeys at some great grounds, our supporters are going to have a great year and we'll try to play some decent football and do ourselves justice."
