Laws labelled the Imp's style of play as ugly, something Alexander was obviously far from happy about.
Alexander said: "Our performance was top drawer from start to finish and I thought we thoroughly deserved to win the game.
"Week in, week out, season in, season out Brian Laws is allowed to get away with comments like this. He's been at Scunthorpe for five years, spent a lot of money but is still in Division Three. Just what gives him the right to criticise other teams?
"He talks about Scunthorpe being a footballing side. I never saw much evidence of it on Saturday.
"It's sour grapes because we've taken four points from six off them this term. It was a fairly even first-half, but we were the better side after the break.
I can't remember Alan Marriott having much to do, and they were the ones hanging on in the end."
