Beckford gunning for old team-mates

The 23-year-old spent a month on loan at the Cumbrian outfit from Leeds earlier this season, but managed just one goal in five games.

Things have gone rather better since his temporary switch to Glanford Park in January - with his seven goals crucial in Scunthorpe's first title win since 1957/58.

"It's going to be a tough game because the Carlisle boys know exactly how I play, all my strengths and weaknesses," Beckford told the News And Star.

"The Carlisle fans definitely didn't see the best of me. Hopefully I'll show them I'm better than that on Saturday - as long as I'm not getting kicked up in the air!

"I really can't put my finger on why it's gone so much better for me here than it did at Carlisle. Sometimes players go through a month or two when they don't have great games, then all of a sudden they turn it around.

"I'm pinching myself after what's happened to me since then. It's been a crazy old season."
