Southampton stunned the football world yesterday by sacking the Scunthorpe legend after back-to-back promotions and guiding the Saints to sit 15th in the Premier League.
It has been reported by the Blackpool Gazette that Pool chairman Karl Oyston immediately contacted Adkins’ representatives and has made him the club’s no.1 target.
Oyston was hoping to speak to Adkins over the weekend, however there are no guarantees Adkins would want an instant return to management.
