United will receive £144,000 in television money as the FA Cup fourth round tie with Manchester City will be broadcast on terrestrial television.
It is the first time United have been on terrestrial British television, with the game being shown on ITV1.
It is a repeat of the fourth round of the Carling Cup when city were 5-1 winners at Eastlands. The presence of TV cameras suggests the TV executives believe a different result could happen with Scunthorpe enjoying home advantage.
The game will kick off at 4pm on Sunday January 24, with the club making 7,400 tickets available for home supporters.
