Cobblers win delights Laws

Laws said: "We are delighted, we started well and produced two good chances, but then Northampton gained control of midfield.

"We changed things around at half-time and it was a terrific goal from Lee Ridley that won it for us. It was his first for the club and I'm sure he will never score a better goal than that.

"We looked better in the second half and the goal itself was worth three points, when we held the ball up we looked the better side."

Cobblers boss Colin Calderwood was less happy with the outcome of the match, which brought to an end a run of four succesive wins.

He said: "Sometimes you have to take these results on the chin. We are disappointed, the dressing room is very quiet and the point would have been a good one.

"We have got to sit down and try to work out why we didn't do anything in the second half after playing so well before the break.

"We have to try and win games, they only had one good opportunity in the second half and they've taken it with a terrific finish."
