The Scotland international tipped United to make Glanford Park something of a fortress.
“It’s a horrible place to go. The likes of Middlesbrough and Newcastle might not be ready for that type of football, and there might be a few surprises," he told the Mirror.
“There could be a few shocks in the league. They’re hard to beat and they play to their strengths.
“When the new year comes around and there are night games, the pitch will deteriorate and it will be difficult to play on.”
