Collins tried to quit a fortnight ago ahead of the defeat at Lincoln City, and he has again reiterated this threat.

Regulars at Brunton Park believe that the threat is due to the long delays in Irish businessman John Courtenay's takeover of the club.

Courtenay, who owns the Irish franchise for sports brand UMBRO, is in line to replace hugely unpopular Michael Knighton as owner and chairman of the club.

It has been suggested that he would pull out of a deal if it is not completed within a week, until the deal goes through Carlisle are unable to purchase new players as they have yet to pay back a PFA loan taken out to pay players wages.

Tension between the club and local media has arisen again, with the News And Star - the award winning daily newspaper for the Carlisle area - being banned from Brunton Park.

Carlisle will line up at Glanford Park minus midfielder Steve Soley, who broke his toe last Saturday as they triumphed over Swansea City.

Danger man for Carlisle is still Ian Stevens, who has formed a good understanding with Irish forward Richie Foran.
