Dagnall, 24, moved to Scunthorpe on a free transfer in the summer after impressing in League Two with Rochdale.
Assuming manager Nigel Adkins plays two up front then he is all but assured of a place in the starting XI, alongside Jonathan Forte.
"It's very exciting and would be brilliant to play in front of a crowd of around 20,000," he said.
"We won't know until nearer the time what the team is but obviously I'm hoping to play and I'm keeping my fingers crossed."
