Exclusive- Laws talks to two

With the collapse in ITV Digital there is an urgent need to restructure the finances at Scunthorpe United, as seen by the reduced squad size we will operate with next season.

Also on the agenda is the need to reduce the wage paid to manager Brian Laws, Iron-Bru.net can reveal that as a result of this Lawsy is considering his options elsewhere.

Sources suggest that he has spoken to two potential employers away from Scunthorpe United.

We believe that one of these is Huddersfield Town, who have yet to appoint a new manager after sacking Lou Macari.

The second club currently has a manager in place, and because of this our source would not reveal the club.

Lawsy has been in charge at Glanford Park after replacing Mick Buxton in 1997.

Despite being the longest serving manager in the third division he has only managed one promotion - via the playoffs in 1999 - which was subsequently followed by relegation.

This does not mean that Lawsy is leaving Glanford Park, as he would be foolish to walk away from a team he has built so easily.

If he does leave the club however then Mark Lillis and Paul Wilson would be amongst the candidates to replace him. We do hear though that David O'Leary and Guus Hiddink are both looking for new jobs in the game.....
