FA turn down Byrne appeal

The Irish defender was shown a straight red following a challenge on Oldham winger Chris Porter during the second-half at Glanford Park on Saturday.

And he must now sit out the next three games, starting with the match at Whaddon Road.

He is also out of Saturday's derby at Doncaster and the visit of Millwall the following week.
