Fans backing promotion bid

A bumper crowd - which could be close to a sell-out - will back United against Bristol Rovers on Saturday, while the full allocation of 1,920 tickets for the final day trip to Shrewsbury have sold out.

Three points on Saturday could be enough to secure automatic promotion to League One, depending on how Swansea fare against Shrewsbury on Saturday in their final game at the Vetch Field ground.

They currently trail the Iron buy two points, and if the gap is more than three points by the end of Saturday's games then United will be promoted along with Yeovil and Swansea.

The Scunthorpe Telegraph family stand is completely sold out for home support on Saturday, with just 300 left for the Grove Wharf Stand.

Terrace space will also be at a premium, with more than 1,600 tickets sold.

There are however around 1,000 tickets left for the Caparo Stand - which is usually used to house away support but is being made available to cope with the high demand from Iron fans.

Tickets can be reserved by calling the club on 01724 848077.
