Since Saturday's 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Brentford we have been inviting site users to tell us whether they are still confident of staying up.

United surpassed all expectations with a storming start to the season, even briefly hitting the top of the table, but a run of poor results has seen the side drop to 15th in the table.

This has seen morale in the stands take a severe knock, with 53.3 per cent of voters saying they are not confident of avoiding a quick return to League Two - with 46.7 per cent insisting they still were.

One man who is aware of the seriousness of the situation is Iron manager Brian Laws, who insists the players can turn things around.

He said: "Our confidence has been damaged and it's going to take some strong-willed characters to get it back.

"We have just got to keep believing in ourselves. I have strong beliefs in the players and in myself. We will get it turned around, that's for sure."
