Fans split over Forrester

All week we have ran a poll asking fans to tell us whether they thought Jamie Forrester was an Iron legend or traitor.

And when voting closed at midnight last night it was a dead heat - 50% said he was a traitor and 50% said he was a legend.

Forrester of course was an integral part of our 1999 playoff winning team, scoring 23 times as we earned promotion to the second division for the first time in a decade and a half.

Despite infamously describing Scunthorpe as a bit of a shed in an interview for Loaded magazine he was a fans favourite and built up a tremendous goalscoring partnership with John Eyre - and a bit of assistance from big John Gayle.

He didn't hang around for long though, moving to FC Utrecht on the back of his goalscoring record at Glanford Park.

His time in Holland was not a success, and although he wanted to return to United ended up at Northampton Town instead.

After three years at the Sixfields Stadium he made a move to Hull City where they were undergoing their latest team re-building exercise.

Predictably his first goal for the Mudrats came in the Humber derby at our place, although he has yet to taste a victory wearing the black and amber.
