The 19-year-old joined the Iron last season from Norwich City, and after getting his chance when Steve Torpey was injured has proved to be quite a find.

He netted eight times in fifteen appearances last season helping the Iron to reach the end of season play-offs and he hopes his goals can help the Iron all the way to the Second Division this term.

He said: "I'm very much looking forward to the start of the season. It's going to be my first full year as a pro and really I can't wait for the first match.

"It was nice to have a break because we were working hard towards the end of last season but it's even better to get back into it and see everyone again.

"I don't really want to set myself any targets as such, but it would be nice if I could get somewhere around the 15-20 goals mark.

"Everyone is hoping we can get promoted this year and we're all confident too because of how well we did last season.

"I think the division as a whole is going to be tougher than it was last year. There's a few teams who have come down who are going to be very strong and difficult to beat.

"But we have to be confident and if we don't manage to sneak that third automatic spot then we have to be involved in the play-offs again at the very least."
