Hooper: I'll stay, if we go up or not

The forward is United's top scorer this season, after forming a deadly strike partnership with Paul Hayes.

His form has inevitably caught the eye of teams higher up the league ladder - tabloid speculation has linked Fulham and Coventry with moves, though these claims appear unfounded.

Chris Coleman, the Coventry manager, has said he is not interested in signing the former Southend man.

And Hooper is trying to ignore the speculation and is keen to sign an extended contract offered to him by the Iron manager Nigel Adkins.

"I try to ignore the speculation, but it is always going to be in the back of your mind," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"It interests me, but I am more interested in staying at Scunny if they get promoted and staying if they are in League One because they are a good club."
