Iron appeal against Torps card

Torpey was sent to the dressing room just eight minutes after coming off the bench following a challenge on Louis Carey.

As it was a straight red for violent conduct, the veteran forward faces a three-match ban.

Carey, and home manager Gary Johnson, both leapt to Torpey's defence after the game.

Iron boss Brian Laws said: "Torpey has his critics and his fans, but you have to make a decision as to whwther it was a deliberate contact to their centre-half.

"The video suggests that it certainly wasn't malicious he was trying to get into a position to head the ball."
