Two goals from summer signing Paul Wheatcroft, as well as a strike from Martin Carruthers, ensured that United on Thursday the first of August ensured that the Iron picked up the trophy in the final of the competition which had been held over from last season.

With the first team in action on Tuesday night, when the side make the long trip to face Exeter City, it will be mainly YT's who join fringe squad members in the side.

Russ Wilcox could get a run out, with the the Ridley brothers also in contention - even though Lee is likely to be in the squad which travels to Exeter.

After tonight the reserves will next be in action on the 21st, when they host Grimsby Town reserves at Glanford Park.
