Iron handed tough Worthy Cup draw

This morning's draw handed the Iron the trip to Lancashire, and although Lawsy will insist it is a match we can win there is no doubt that we face one of the toughest challenges in order to reach a potential money spinning second round appearance.

However, on the plus side, Iron-Bru.net has first hand experience of a night out in Preston - so our travel guide will be tip top (Tokyo Joe's - top club, if expensive on a student budget).

Other ties of note include the mudrats from across the water, who will be quietly confident of a cup upset when they host cash strapped Leicester City.

Grimsby will host Chesterfield, whilst Boston United and Bristol Rovers must take part in a playoff match in order to even reach the first round - the winner will host Cardiff City in the first round proper.

The reason for this is Ipswich Town's unexpected UEFA Cup Campaign, which they were handed in a fair play draw, meaning they will not enter until the third round and not the earlier rounds as other first division clubs do.
