Iron sign Leeds winger

Morris spent part of last season on loan at Blackpool, for whom he scored twice in the 5-2 League One win over the Iron, and moves to Glanford Park for an undisclosed fee.

The Irishman was a transfer targer in the summer, but the two clubs could not agree a fee.

Iron boss Brian Laws told PA Sport: "We've signed Ian as a left-sided winger and after the signing of (Daniel) McBreen as well we're back to where we want to be in terms of the attacking side of things.

"Ian was on loan at Blackpool last season and did well. We watched him and tried to sign him in the summer, but could not agree a fee.

"It's been on-going since then, and we've managed to fend off competition from Carlisle so credit to our chairman and the board."

Morris lives with Iron striker Andy Keogh, and has been handed the No.27 shirt.

It is not the only transfer activity going on at Glanford Park.

Former Liverpool winger Robbie Foy has signed a six-month deal, after joining on a non-contract basis last week.

Striker Shane Paul, who also only arrived on non-contract terms last week, has been released.
