Iron to appeal against ninth red of the season

Sparrow was sent off after 54 minutes when the linesman had indicated to the referee Jonothan Moss that United's midfielder had stamped on Saint's right back Wayne Thomas.

However Adkins is adamant it should have been Thomas who recieved the red card after he lunged in at Sparrow.

It was United's 9th red card of the season and Sparrow will miss games against Coventry, Hull and Plymouth if the card is not rescinded.
