Jacko totally ashamed with performance

Jackson said: "I'm totally ashamed with our performance. We let a lot of people down, the fans, the club and ourselves.

"Things went wrong for us everywhere on the pitch, every aspect of the team were poor. They destroyed us at times and everything seemed to go wrong at once.

"We struggled in every position out there, we were very sloppy in defence and I can't think of the words to express how poor we were.

"All I can say is that we will do what we can to try and put things right and get ourselves back on track. We want to get a result on Saturday not for ourselves, but for everything who we let down.

"The fans and the manager have every right to be angry and ashamed with the way we played last night.

"We have an honest set of lads at the club though and against Torquay we know we have to go out and right a few wrongs."

Iron boss Brian Laws was fuming after the match, keeping his players in the changing room for over half an hour before ordering them in for extra training today.

It remains to be seen if he will force the team to play in the Iron's reserve fixture against Notts County tonight as he has done in the past. The game kicks off at 7pm at Glanford Park.
