He is out of contract in the summer and is expecting to move on with a free transfer.
"Grovesy (Grimsby gaffer Paul Groves) pulled me up a couple of weeks ago and said I could go out on loan.
"I knew then that they didn't want to keep me and if they're letting me go out on loan I wouldn't have thought they'll be offering a new deal.
"Now it's up to me to prove myself at Scunthorpe, or show what I can do for whoever might be watching," he told the Grimsby Telegraph.
