Keegan joins Scunthorpe

19-year-old Paul Keegan has joined on a one month loan from Premiership outfit Leeds United and will go straight in to the squad to face Carlisle tonight, after being handed the number 25 shirt.

The Dublin born midfielder has been brought to the club as Iron manager Brian Laws currently has six members of his first team squad out of action.

On-loan goalie Sam Russell will keep his place between the sticks after agreeing to stay at Glanford Park for another month.

Matthew Sparrow (calf), Lee Featherstone (calf), Nathan Stanton (knee), Lee Ridley (neck) and Alex Calvo-Garcia (ankle) will all sit out tonight's match as will midfielder Richard Kell who starts a three match ban.

This will force Laws into at least three changes, with Kevin Sharp brought back in at left-back and Wayne Graves and Ian Kilford tipped to come in to the midfield in place of Sparrow and Kell.

Laws takes charge of tonight's match despite the death of his former wife yesterday, they had beeen divorced for two years but he missed last night's AGM to be with his two children.

He has described the news as `totally devastating`, but will be in Cumbria tonight in a move which is sure to earn him a lot of respect from Iron fans.

Carlisle go into tonight's match on the back of a home defeat at the hands of Macclesfield which saw the team booed off the pitch by their own supporters.

They are rooted in their now familiar spot at the bottom of the Third Division table after managing just five points from their opening 14 games.
