Laws - lady luck deserted us

Cleveland Taylor and Kevin Sharp both saw second half efforts come crashing back off the woodwork in the closing stages of the game.

Laws said: "We have played a very good side. Mansfield are very mobile, but I'm disappointed we did not win as there was only one team in it in the second half.

"It was one-way traffic. We hit the bar and the post, their keeper made good saves and my players couldn't have done any more apart from scoring.

"We needed lady luck tonight to perhaps get us a scruffy goal. the fans that came know my players couldn't have given any more than they did.

"It was a totally different game than the one at Mansfield where they beat us 5-0 and I think Keith Curle will know they've got a good point here."

Mansfield manager Keith Curle was happy with the point. He said: "Scunthorpe is never an easy place to come and while we shaded the first half we were under pressure in the late stages."
