Laws optimistic ahead of Hillsobrough trip

Two late goals from Grant Holt prevented United from pulling off a `shock` against the Owls this afternoon, meaning the two sides must meet again in a replay at Hillsborough.

Laws said: "It feels like it's a defeat. We have been absolutely magnificent today.

"They have scored two goals from absolutely nothing and they didn't deserve it, you can't switch off until the referee blows his whistle.

"Torps was faultless today, he has really caused them lots of problems. They were frightened of him.

"The tempo of the game was very high and they couldn't cope with that"

The replay will be played at Hillsborough on Wednesday December 17 with a 7.45 pm kick-off, admission will be £10 with £5 concessions.

It means another chance for the club to put itself under the national spotlight, and a bumper payday from a large crowd and potential television revenue.

Laws said: "If we play as well as that, then he (Sheff Wed manager Chris Turner) knows he is in for one hell of a game.

"We are still in the hat and it is another payday for us. We have got nothing to fear.

"If we give a good account of ourselves like we did today then the supporters will be delighted."

Owls manager Chris Turner was quick to admit his side were lucky, but paid credit to the fightback which kept his side in the competition.

He said: "We got out of jail, but to come back from two goals down is some credit to the players who never gave up.

"Everyone in the ground thought we were out because we simply couldn't handle Scunthorpe."
