Laws: Postponement was right

The game was called off little more than an hour before kick-off, as home fans raced against the clock to clear snow off the Layer Road pitch.

But Laws, who had inspected the pitch along with a local referee earlier in the day, admitted the decision was the right one

"At the end of the day the decision to postpone the match was the right one - but it's very disappointing," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"I feel for the fans who have travelled here, and it's also expensive for the club after an overnight stop to try and prepare for the game in the best possible way we could.

"But out of the disappointment, the positive thing is it gives us an extra few days to get over knocks and prepare now for the home game with Bradford on Saturday,"
