United took an early lead through Matty Sparrow, and despite letting the home side level went on to win thanks to Clevleand Taylor's strike.

Laws said: "We have worked extremely hard, I thought the work ethic was excellent.

"It was minus two and the surface was not conducive to passing football, but we made it look easy.

"The commitment and desire out there epitomised our performance, both wide men worked very hard."

United played the vast majority of the match against 10 men, and Laws praised his side for taking a patient approach.

He added: "The important thing at half-time was stressing to be patient with the ball, not to be looking for a 70 yard pass.

"We had to make them run, make them chase and tire. we got stronger, they got weaker and we passed the ball with much more patience."
