United host Hull at Glanford Park on December 13 in the second Humber derby of the season, but with important cup games against Sheffield Wednesday and Bury in the week beforehand Laws faces the problem of keeping his players at 100 per cent.

And his solution may result in a weakened side being put out against Hull, in the same way that Mudrats manager Peter Taylor did in the LDV vans Trophy second round defeat at the hands of United.

Laws told BBC Radio Humberside: "I'll try and rest the players for the Hull game or even rest them on the Hull game and maybe even put out my reserves for the Hull game because we are in the cup and it is important to us."
