MacLean scored in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Nottingham Forest while on trial from Scottish giants Rangers, and is available on loan.

He has featured in Rangers' first team ten times, picking up a Scottish Premier League winners medal and a Scottish Cup winners medal last season, and says that he would be interested in a loan move to Glanford Park.

He was back in Glasgow today to discuss his future with Rangers manager Alex McLeish.

Laws is also hopeful of securing the services of Ireland U21 defender Steve Capper, who is available on a free transfer after being released by Sunderland.

He has featured in both of United's pre-season games so far, and is set to start tomorrow night's annual game at FA Vase winners Brigg Town in a bid to win a contract at the club.
