Laws said: "I will take a lot of positives out of that performance, because I felt that a few decisions didn't quite go our way.
"Brentford scored against the run of play but we didn't let our heads drop and kept battling."
Bees boss Martin Allen said: "I was pleased with the way we stayed patient and didn't panic after a very robust first half.
"It was looking a bit tricky until the subs came on and freshened things up.
"The goals came at just the right time. We put a lot in the first-half, and it's never easy against teams who have just been promoted.
"In the second-half we picked up the tempo, and I suppose you could say that Dudley Campbell did make a bit of a difference."
