Laws vents anger as Iron concede late

A 93rd minute equaliser from Orient sub Jabo Ibehre saw United lose out on a third succesive win, and Laws - who had been sent to the stands after arguing with the referee - was fuming.

He said: "Our record shows we don't get good results here and it was on the cards for us to get a good result here today and we thought we'd won it.

"I believe the players thought they'd won it, it was just a matter of clock watching and that's fatal.

"Ten seconds to go and its a case of rolling up your sleeves and dying for the cause, you throw your bodies at things, you don't allow anybody to get time to turn and shoot at goal and I thought that just showed that we were just switching off.

"I'm going to look at it on the video as we travel back because I'm obviously furious that we've thrown away two points again today.

"We deserved more and we should have got it and as I said to the players at full time, don't you ever think you were unlucky today, you weren't."

Laws was also less than pleased with the performance of referee Steve Tomlin, especially his decision to award a penalty - which was saved by Sam Russell - five minutes from time.

He said: "That is why I was sent to the stand. If the referee thought that was a case of hand to ball he has got to be joking."

Under-fire Orient manager Paul Brush also agreed on the decision, saying: "We got a stone banker turned down and then got one that wasn't.

"We didn't come out fast enough and we didn't get into our stride. We didn't create enough but at least we kept going after the penalty miss."
