Scunthorpe's Brian Laws said: "The sendings off were two bizarre decisions. We should have had all three points, we were not at our best, we didn't have to be.

"We have to take some positives, we were not beaten and kept a clean sheet, our away form is excellent but at home we seem to need to be more creative and when we're not, we're poor."

York player-boss Chris Brass said: "I'm very happy with the point. When we went down to 10 men, we gave a very disciplined performance.

"We finished with some very tired legs but I would have been disappointed if we'd not got a point."
