Laws wants an away goal

United travel down the A15 in high sprits after ending the season with wins against Oxford and Shrewsbury, and are favourites to reach the play-off final.

The Lincolnshire derby is notoriously unpredictable though, and the Iron have managed just one point against the Imps this season - tasting defeat at Sincil Bank in September.

Laws said:"We just want to go there and get a result that makes sure the second leg back here at Glanford Park next Wednesday is still very much alive.

"We know we are going to face a hostile atmosphere tomorrow, we know that Lincoln are going to be really wound up about it and we have got to be prepared and focused for their early onslaught.

"We know that our fans will be outnumbered by more than four to one tomorrow but my appeal to them is to make as much noise as they can. They have been magnificent for us in recent weeks and we really need them to be at their best again tomorrow."

Lincoln City manager Keith alexander admits his side are underdogs, but is confident they can pull off a result.

He said: "If we can win at home tomorrow then that will be great, but I'll be happy as long as we go into the game at their place still in with a chance.

"The fact that it's also a derby as well as a play-off semi-final doesn't matter too much, but I don't think you can divorce the two.

"It'll be physical, fast and furious. I think Scunthorpe will start the game as favourites and that won't bother us one little bit."

Both sides are set to be at near full strength tomorrow, with only Rob Taylor struggling to be fit.

Lincoln City will welcome back Chris Cornelly from suspension, while Ben Futcher and Alan Marriott are both expected to recover from slight knocks to play.
