Lillis to face Sheffield United

Murphy, a summer capture from Sunderland, came off during Tuesday night's win over Leeds with a slight thigh strain.

It was a result of intensive training with Iron physio Nigel Adkins, but he will probably sit out Saturday's game against the Blades to ensure he is fully fit for the season opener at Bristol City next week.

"The fact is we don't want to take any risks, and that's why Josh came on against Leeds," manager Brian Laws told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"I thought Josh did okay. He didn't look overawed at all. He has conceded a goal in the first few minutes of being on, but he has not let it affect him. It is a good confidence booster for him.

"He is stil raw, but he has been working really hard. He has been working exceptionally hard with Murphy, and I'm sure he can lern a lot from him."
