Troublesome injury
With Martin Carruthers limping off during the midweek defeat at Hartlepool United the club now only have Steve Torpey and Brian Quailey as recognised forwards, with youth team forward Mark Anderson also an option.

Manager Brian Laws has spent the rest of the week looking for possible replacements, including watching potential signings in action.

"I have also made numerous phone calls and contacted many managers requiring about availability of players," Laws told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph.

"We have until Saturday lunchtime to bring in a loan player so he can play at Shrewsbury.

The club are also checking out defender Stuart Thom who has struggled with a calf injury.
