That injury meant the Scotsman has not played for the Iron, although he will return to Glanford Park if he returns to full fitness before the end of his month-long loan.

It is not the only injury disappointment for the Iron, with centre-back Rob Jones ruled out of Saturday's trip to Watford after aggravating a broken bone in a hand.

He played against Doncaster and Preston with a protective cast on, but aggravated the injury on Tuesday night and has had to have it placed in a harder cast.

Joe Murphy's groin injury is not as bad as initially feared, but he is still a doubt for Saturday's game at Vicarage Road.

Sam Slocombe, who came off the bench to replace him at Deepdale, will start between the sticks if the Irishman is unable to play.
