More trialists at Gainsborough

Knill has apparently ended his interest in midfielder Dominic Green after he failed to impress in Saturday's friendly loss at Halifax, while he was leaving it late to decide whether fellow trialist Stephen Brogan – a left-back still had a future at the club.

It seems unlikely either player will go on to be offered contracts, especially considering a left-back was among the players Knill was trying to bring in on trial in time to face the Blue Square North side at Northolme on Wednesday.

Knill would not reveal the names of either player.

Iron fans will see a number of familiar faces in the Trinity setup. Johnathan Williams and Rory Coleman signed for the club as players this summer after being released by Knill, while their youth development officer – and de facto assistant - is former Iron midfielder Steve Housham.
