Morfaw has ankle op

The 19-year-old, a Cameroon U-21 international, suffered the problem while appearing as a trialist in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup final loss to Lincoln in August.

Luckily for the teenager, who was released by French side Nantes in the summer, he had impressed enough in a pre-season friendly against Chesterfield to be offered a one-year deal to stay at Glanford Park.

An MRI scan failed to determine the full extent of the problem, with a minor surgical procedure - an arthroscopy - used to get a clearer picture of the problem.

Despite being unable to make his competitive debut for the Iron, Morfaw insists he has been warmly welcomed to the club by players, management and supporters.

United boss Nigel Adkins expects Morfaw to be ready for a first-team bow in around six weeks.
