The 19-year-old midfielder penned a one-year deal at Glanford Park in the summer, after impressing in a trial with the club following his release by French side Nantes.

"Since my official presentation I have been warmly welcomed by the supporters and management, " he told camlions.com.

"An ideal thing would have been to sign my first professional contract at Nantes, they put a lot of work into my development and I am very grateful. But I was attracted by the contract which Scunthorpe proposed.

"Through this ambitious club I will continue to progress and go to a new level, I am ready for all the challenges ahead."

Morfaw impressed in a 45 minute appearance against Chesterfield in pre-season, but suffered an ankle injury in the following game against Lincoln City.

It meant the youngster began his career with the Iron watching from the sidelines.

"Following a nasty tackle, as if to welcome me to English football, I had to go off. The referee didn't even give a foul," he said.

"I find the game in France more technical and disciplined, in England there is more emphasis on the phyiscal side and the game is faster.

"I've been out of action for a month, but during this period Nigel Adkins has supported me a lot."

Morfaw has represented Cameroon at U-21 level, and hopes to pull on the Indominatable Lions shirt again in the future.

"I missed the last game because the negotiations for my transfer were still being finalised," he added.

"I want to concentrate on my new club rather than my non-selection by Cameroon. However I am always ready to play for the U-21s if called upon."
