Basque midfielder Alex Calvo-Garcia is the only injury doubt, and should he be forced to sit out then Scott Brough is likley to be elevated into the starting eleven.

Laws has hinted that he may give a chance to some of the fringe players and youngsters during the second half, with Andy Parton one of those looking to grab his opportunity in the first team after recovering from injury.

He will be fielding a side to go out and win the game so, and hoping that the younger players can make their mark: "The LDV competition is important to Scunthorpe United, for one thing if you get to the later stages it's a way of bringing in revenue for the club.

"We will be going out there to try and win it. We know Blackpool will be difficult opposition, they are the holders, but anything can happen.

"Blackpool are a very good side, they consolidated when they got promotion and have since strengthened the side are are now pushing in the right direction to make the top seven."

Blackpool meanwhile may use the game to rest some key players following their impressive weekend victory over moneybags Cardiff City.

Midfielder Martin Bullock will sit out through injury, while John Hills could be amongst those rested by Steve McMahon.
