Calvo rejected the initial offer of a one year deal from the club, but was handed the two year deal which he asked for and richly deserved.

“We have shaken on a deal today and he is coming in on Monday to sign the contract," confirmed Brian Laws.

"We are very pleased, it has been a long drawn out thing but everybody is happy now.

“We need his experience it is going to be a fairly young team next season and he is a good professional who sets good examples."

James Cotterill, Scott Brough and the Ridley brothers have also accepted offers made to them by the club.

"He (Cotts)made some good progress this season and we have rewarded him for that," said Lawsy.

“Scott Brough too has agreed, obviously Lee Hodges leaving played a big factor in that and if he is positive in his play he will be in the first team"
