Since opening in 2003, as one of the first of its kind in the country, more than 2,000 people have passed through the centre's doors.

It provides an educational aid for local schools from primary school to GCSE level.

Content development manager Rob Jefferson said:"We are proud to have held an official event to mark the Centre's second birthday and also the fact that we've now helped more than 2,000 learners from the local community, both young and old.

"Study United was part-funded by the Football Foundation so we are delighted that such an important figure as Mr Dave Richards - who is also chairman of the Premier League - witnessed his organisation’s money put to great work. It really proves how renowned the Centre is becoming."
