"Unless Andy Dawson succeeds in getting a move then that is likely to be it as far as we are concerned," Iron manager Brian Laws told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph tonight.

"The transfer market this summer has gone absolutely dead.

"There is no movement anywhere and I cannot see that changing unless some money comes in from somewhere to replace that which clubs have lost following the collapse of ITV Digital.

"This summer has been a very quiet one for me and a very patient one.

"What I will be looking to try and do is bring in one or two players on a trial basis during our pre-season programme."
Laws has spoken to Graham Taylor at Aston Villa with a view to bringing in one or two Villa youngsters in on loan.

A goalkeeper to push Tommy Evans is believed to be his number one priority with a central defender another possibilty.
