"We started like a house on fire and our front two (Carruthers and Torpey) were superb," he told Iron-Bru.net after the match.

"The second half was stop-start but we made sure we concentrated and kept things tight at the back."

York manager Terry Dolan however was less than impressed with the work-rate of his defence in coping with the pair.

"From an attacking point of view I've no complaints. We pushed players forward but Scunthorpe got players back in the box," he stated.
