Result from `vital` game pleases Laws

A late goal from Cleveland Taylor saw United come back up the A15 with a point after a strong performance against Lincoln, who have proven to be a bogey team in recent seasons.

A content Brian Laws said: "I felt we had the better chances particularly in the first half. It was a cracking result but I'm disappointed we didn't win the game.

"We deserved that, overall we were the better side. It is pleasing to come away from Lincoln with a result because they've been a reall thorn in our side.

"Overall I'm pleased with the result, although we could have won it. It was vital to get something out of today's game"

Laws will ask referee Eddie Ilderton to reconsider the tenth minute booking of skipper Cliff Byrne who was yellow carded for a foul apparently committed by team mate Andy Butler.

He also had some words of wisdom for goalscorer Cleveland Taylor, whose cross-cum-shot levelled the match.

He said: "If Cleveland turns around and says that he meant that then he will be lying, although he will have a smile on his face!"

Lincoln manager Keith Alexander, who returned from a spell out through illness recently, was far from happy with his side.

He said: "I was very disappointed with the goal we conceded. I wasn't happy with the performance and I was disappointed with the result."
