The defender missed Thursday night's Lincolnshire Cup against Grimsby Town and will be hoping that the injury isn't too serious.

Young Marcus Williams deputised for Ridley in the left-back slot and has earned rave reviews for his performance on the Iron-Bru.net messageboard.

Jim Goodwin, Richie Ryan, Ian Baraclough and Peter Beagrie also missed the Grimsby victory but they are expected to recover quickly from their respective niggling injuries.

Eight other players also picked up niggling injuries in Thursday's game.

Boss Laws told the Scunthorpe Telegraph after the game: "We've got a few niggles, but you always get those at this time of the season and although it was very humid out on the pitch, the players looked very fit."
